Movement and Rest of the body for Health
Know then that moderate exercise is a most efficacious means of preserving good health. It warms the organs, and dissolves waste products, and makes the body light and active. The best time for it is after food has left the stomach, which it takes about five or six hours to do - more or less, depending on the constitution of the individual and of the food. By 'moderate exercise is meant exercise which makes the skin red and glow. When sweating begins, then that is the right time to stop. Whatever increases Sweating is called 'heavy exercise'.

Every organ is strengthened and enlivened by regular exercise. The same is true of the inner faculties. Whoever wishes to improve his memory will improve it by memorising. The same applies to the intellect and to thought. So, for every organ there is a specific exercise. Thus for the chest there is talking, beginning with whispering, and then passing on to shouting. For the eyes there are small letters. And for the hearing there are soft, pleasing sounds.
Horse-riding provides moderate exercise for the whole body.
The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, indicated a form of exercise to us which is good for our bodies and our hearts, when he said, "Raid - and you will become rich. Travel and you will grow healthy." And again, he said, "Fasting brings health." His saying, "Digest your food with right actions and prayer," has already been quoted.
